Just being with nature is known to boost energy, increase creativity and concentration, improve memory and mood, and relieve overall stress. We may not be able to indulge in long hikes through the forest or walks along the beach every day (although doing these things can be life changing), but stealing just 5 minutes in the morning or afternoon to go outside, can give you enough boost to get you through the rest of the day feeling more energized and alive.

5. Do a Good Deed

According to many a scientific report, the benefits you receive from doing a good deed are very real and powerful. Random acts of kindness actually raise dopamine levels in your brain which in turn boosts your mood. As evolved humans, we are in fact wired to be kind to each other and programmed to be empathetic. So when we do something good for another human being, we are going along the grain of our very being, and therefore it feels good. The best thing is, performing a random act of kindness can take just 5 seconds! Lend a hand, give a compliment, say “thank you”, hold a door open, clean up your corner… If you remember to do one or more of these things throughout the day, you’ll actually reinforce strong positive habits and give yourself an instant dopamine boost, every time.
